For several years, I have been actively involved in public education and have served our schools in a variety of capacities. In the past I served on School Site Council at Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and I worked directly with parents, educators, administrators, and community members. I was elected to serve as a member of the Compensatory Education Advisory Committee (CEAC), representing schools at Local District 4. During my service with Local District 4, I was elected to represent the Local District 4 at the Central District under LAUSD’s Specially Funded Programs Division as a member of the District Advisory Council (DAC) Budget Sub-Committee.
My commitment to public education was also recognized by LAUSD with a Certificate of Recognition for promoting academic achievement for all students and supporting parental involvement.
In Rowland Unified School District (RUSD), I have continued serving our school community. I served on the School Site Council at Stanley G. Oswalt Academy and John A. Rowland High School. At the district level, I also served as a member of the Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC).
These experiences have taught me that a successful school district requires communication, collaboration, accountability, transparency, and responsible stewardship of public resources. Most importantly, every decision must ultimately be measured by one question: How does this benefit our students?
If elected as your Board member, I will listen to parents, teachers, staff, students, and community members. I will bring an open, responsive, and common-sense approach to solving problems and making decisions. Most importantly, I will keep our children at the center of every decision.
